Tron-Founder Justin Reveals The 500 Ether Hack To its Users

Formerly known crypto exchange Huobi now going by the HTX was recently attacked by hackers and lost a total of 499  ETH. This misdeed was said to have taken place on Sunday was the exchange was able to detect it early enough.

The 500 taken ether are approximately equivalent to $8 million. After the misdeed was detected they quickly modified the hot wallet address, developed a real-time monitoring system, and introduced the SAFU fund.

Justin Sun shares HTX attack on X Media

Tron founder by the name Justice Sun later on shared the news on his X platform former ‘Twitter’ reassuring HTX users that they already had full control over the issue and that all the losses were already covered. Justin Sun stated on his social media page that:

“$8 million represents a relatively small sum in comparison to the $3 billion worth of assets held by our users. It also amounts to just two weeks’ revenue for the HTX platform.” 

“As a result, all funds are secure, and trading operations have continued as usual. We promptly addressed and resolved all issues, restoring the platform to its normal state without delay.”He added.

According to data collected from Arkham the wallet that was hacked looks to be one of HTX’s popular wallets given it has received almost $500 million in deposits from Binance since its launch in the month of March.

Ton-founder is however also willing to work with the hacker by offering him or her an opportunity to join the team as a security white hat advisor. He also added that he is giving away $400,000 to the hacker as soon as the funds are regained. HTX has also promised to come up with more secure protocols to prevent this occurrence from repeating itself. Justin concludes with encouraging words to the public,

“Past experiences have taught us that security is an ongoing race, where we must continually adopt measures to ensure the security of user assets and fortify our security defense.”
