One Crypto exchange CoinW was recently hacked for a huge sum of $13 Million according to Cyvers, a blockchain firm. Most individuals are suspecting North Korean hackers to have been involved in the act, as the same sponsored hackers -the Lazarus group were recently involved in the attack on the CoinEX exchange that lost around $55 million.
Lazarus Group is now ranking at the 66th position among the Tron(TRX) holders. Currently, it holds around $11.63 million. Following more reports from the security firm, as they were been interviewed by one crypto site Belncrypto they stated that:
“Our cutting-edge AI system has flagged multiple suspicious transactions totaling $13M on the @CoinWOfficial exchange on BTC, ETH, and BNB chains.”
CoinW is yet to respond to the public on the issue
The firm also added that the thread was yet to be revealed if it was truly caused by foreign forces or not. Furthermore, the blockchain security firm was able to detect some suspicious addresses on the attacked asserts.
Ethereum’s suspected address was said to have a balance of 200 ETH, which was almost 10.5 million worth. In addition, the Bitcoin address was suspected to have $2.3 million which is approximately 81BTC.BNB chain address was said to have $500,000 on it.
The exchange has yet to respond to the attack, nobody from the firm has said anything con concerning the hack. Following analysis from CoinMarketCap, CoinW has still a good amount of holdings on its exchange summing up to $211.2 million furthermore its spot trading volume is said to be nothing less than $680 Million. Exchanges should work on enhancing their security measures it prevent such misdeeds from occurring.
