Cyberattackers Steals US$41 Million From a Gambling Site

Hacking has recently been an issue of concern in North Korea as crypto gambling platform stack.com became a victim of the incident. It was reported that Lazarus Group was the team behind the US$41 million that occurred recently. The misdeed took place on Monday this week.

Tornado Cash, which is now authorized, was previously used by Lazarus Group to transfer illegal payments. However, Chainalysis claims that after the penalties, Lazarus used chain-hopping to reroute some of the money taken from Ronin.

U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the team behind the investigation reported to the public early on Wednesday. Listening to more reports from the FBI the stolen crypto assets were later transferred from Stack.com’s Ethereum, polygon network, and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) to 33 different addresses.

FBI, however, also stated that the hackers the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea ( DPRK) have been involved in other misdeed hacks this same year and have stolen an approximate amount of US$200 crypto.

Other affected organizations this same year include Siphoned Off Alphapo and Coinpad crypto platforms. According to U.S. authorities, money taken by cybercriminals with help from the DPRK is used to finance North Korea’s weapons development. 

Following all these misdeeds that have been taking place within this short period KBS. News media reported that the U.S. authorities and South Korea concluded on the 18th of August to work together by creating a  group to fight Cyberattacks in North Korea next month in order to secure the Crypto industry.
